WHO ARE WE?

GL1_0051VisualArtsMajors.JPG

The Visual Arts Program at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy is an integrated curriculum within McCallum High School that emphasizes creativity, diversity, and community. Faculty help visual arts students develop important artistic and creative skills through the application of art elements and principles of design in art production, integration of art history and cultural heritage, and the development of visual judgment through art criticism and aesthetics.

Visual Arts Majors, upon successful completion of their first year foundations curriculum, take at least 6 year-long courses in either drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, digital photography or a mixture of these. Advanced placement studio courses are also offered to seniors, where students must submit a cohesive portfolio to be scored by the College Board.

THE CLASS OF 2020

Each of the 20 incredible Visual Arts Majors featured on this website have completed the rigorous and demanding coursework required to graduate with a fine arts certificate at McCallum High School. Many of these students have been recognized both locally and nationally for their exceptional work as artists, so make sure to commend each of them on their hard work and accomplishments. While we are unable to celebrate in person, we would still like to recognize our amazing graduates and wish them the best on their future endeavors, whether they may be art related or not.

Congratulations to the all the 2020 Visual Arts Majors!

We can't wait to see what you create in the future!
